2023 Wheat Season by the Numbers

Being in the wheat business has been fun. Each year, yields climb higher as wheat genetics continually improve. The 2023 wheat season was no different, with many customers hitting new farm records. “The harvest was tremendous over a wide area for the Soft Red Winter crop from Missouri to the east. It was remarkable. Many customers reported recording-breaking yields in several states,” said Matt Wehmeyer, President of AgriMAXX Wheat.

The 100+ Bushel Club members yielded 43.6 bushels/acre over the National average. At $5.38 per bushel, this yield increase adds overs $245/acre to their revenue.

Additionally, we had a record number of 150 Bushel Club awards given out. Such figures are not just impressive but revolutionary for soft red winter wheat, especially when compared to the USDA-calculated average soft red winter wheat yield of 72.4 bushels per acre for 2023.

While we conduct our own in-house research and data, we also commit to third-party testing to showcase our performance. Some highlights from the 2023 wheat season include:

  • 14 growers were state winners in the 2023 National High Yield Contest
  • 7 different varieties achieved these winning results
  • 9 different varieties took 1st place in state trial summaries with 21 total 1st place finishes
  • AgriMAXX placed in the Top 3 in state trial summaries 48 times
