National Wheat Foundation’s Yield Contest Early Deadline is April 15; Final Deadline May 16

It has been fun to see the success our customers have experienced over the years with AgriMAXX Wheat. This year will be no exception. Farmers are excited to push their crops to new heights for more profitability because of the high market price of wheat. With the elite AgriMAXX varieties and a profitability mindset in growers, we expect to see more growers entering our 100 and 125 Bushel Clubs.

Additionally, The National Wheat Foundation gives farmers the chance each year to compete and see how far they can push their yields by participating in their National Wheat Yield Contest. The contest has two primary categories: winter wheat and spring wheat. These categories are then divided into dryland and irrigated wheat. And there are two levels of awards given, based and yield and the percentage increase of yield compared to the county average.

“We hope to see many AgriMAXX growers enter the contest this year,” says Dale Wehmeyer, President of AgriMAXX Wheat. “We are very happy to partner with farmers and share in their success and profitability.”

In the 2021 contest, AgriMAXX grower Peterson Farms in Kentucky earned 4th place Nationally with AgriMAXX 505 and a yield of 126.07 bushels/acre.

Early entry for the contest is April 15, 2022 for winter wheat. The final deadline is Monday, May 16, 2022. The National Association of Wheat Growers recognizes 24 National winners and will award them with a trip to the Commodity Classic in Orlando, Florida in March 2023. They will also be recognized at a winner’s reception.

As a National winner, there is also a chance to win $500 for desired industry quality. This new quality component tests for milling and baking qualities. Each of the 24 National winners will send in their samples and if they meet all the markers for industry-desired quality, the producer will receive the additional cash award.
