Illinois Wheat Tour Reports Good Crop

BELLEVILLE, Ill. — While yields may not match last year’s record, participants of an annual wheat tour reported a generally good crop and expect another good harvest.

Several groups spread out across the state’s Wheat Belt, checking plants in more than 80 fields in the southern third of the state. A dry, cold winter stunted growth of the plants, but most observers reported relatively little disease.
